ANDAMANS SHORT ITINERARY :

DAY 1 : ARRIVAL AT PORT BLAIR

After a brief nap, lunch & freshening up, we will proceed on to Corbens cove beach & come back for the light & sound show to cellular Jail. Today is very relaxed day where we will get to know each other. Eventhough its just a 5 day trip, trust me , we will be feeling it is of more than a week. Get ready for the days ahead with a good night's sleep 🙂

DID YOU KNOW?

As part of the Andaman islands, there is one particular island called the sentinel island which is home to the most isolated paleolithic tribes of the world.

DAY 2 : PORT BLAIR TO HAVELOCK

Usually our ferry to Havelock is around 12 in the afternoon . Keep your Adhar card accessible . Just like in flights, the checkin baggage gets scanned and goes in a separate chamber in the ferry . You don't carry it inside the sitting area.

Once we reach, few of us will go get the scooters and head for quick lunch , after which we will head to the famous Radhanagar beach & get into our 1st beach of Andaman sea . The evening light here is so vibrant that we wouldn’t feel like to leave the beach. Today we can get a few drinks and have a small pool party also if you all are game.

DID YOU KNOW?

Andaman and Nicobar Islands is best known for being India’s best nesting beaches for three species of marine turtles – Hawksbill, Green turtle and world’s largest sea turtle, the Leatherback. The nesting population of Leatherback turtles in Nicobar is one of the few colonies that exceeds 1,000 individuals in the Indo-Pacific, and is hence of global importance.

DAY 3 : SCUBA DIVING IN HAVELOCK

Today we dive into the ocean bed to explore what lies beneath the surface . A session is about 30 mins and will be guided by professional divers after a 30 mins training session. Each one of you will have an individual instructor.

There are 2 kind of dives : Boat dive and shore dive. As the name suggests, the boat dive will have small boat that takes you to the middle of the ocean and then you dive on your back ( yes like in the movie Zindagi na milegi dubara ). The shore one, is where you walk into the ocean from the shore. For the people, who haven't done scuba before and for the people whose main aim is to see the flora and fauna under the ocean, I highly recommend doing the Shore dive.

After the scuba , we will head for a small jungle hike to the elephant beach. Needn't worry, its an easy 30 mins straight walk. No ascend , no descent .

The below picture is of a sunrise. We sometimes sit on this beach and stay up until sunrise and then go to sleep. If you are game, we are 🙂 . I am not going to spoil this special day by writing about it here. If you stay, you will know 🙂

DID YOU KNOW?

India’s only active volcano - the barren island is present in Andaman islands.

DAY 4 : HAVELOCK TO NIEL ISLAND

After checking in , we will go see the natural rock formations there. Sometimes we go directly the spot if we are getting a late ferry . The place is drop dead pretty in. Today also we have pool access, so whoever is in for some more Marco polo game. Let's burn some more calories.

DID YOU KNOW?

At Havelock island, one can kayak through a mangrove to reach the open sea.

DAY 5 : HAVELOCK TO PORTBLAIR

Arrive back to port blair by evening and visit Chindiya thapu for a scenic sunset. Today is our last day / night in the Andamans island so its usual to feel bad about leaving the amazing family you made. As we drive back from the beach, think about all the funny things that happened during this trip, think about how each person taught you something . We will spend sometime and write to each other once we are back at hotel.

DID YOU KNOW?

Dugong a.k.a the sea cow is the state animal of Andaman and Nicobar islands.

DAY 6 : DEPART FROM PORT BLAIR

The D day is here. After a last tender coconut ,Today we Bid Adieu to meet again in some other Airport, with another level of excitement to meet a new family.

I AM COMING SOLO. IS THAT A PROBLEM ?

Most people come alone for my trips. About 25% of the people bring a friend or partner.Honestly It really doesn't matter. I have seen on all the batches I have lead. Most people really gel with everyone, even the ones who thought wouldn't gel up, surprise themselves always with the way they got comfortable with everyone.

YOUR ITINERARY LOOKS DIFFICULT FOR ME. CAN I DO IT ?

Each trek/ trip is rated according to the number of days we spend outdoors . If you aren't sure where to start, go with an easy trip or trek.

For trips,

I dreamed of trips where we could go out hike , get exhausted , come back to hotel and have a great evening. This is exactly why some of my trips have Day hikes in it. It is a perfect chance for people who have never hiked in their entire life. Don't worry, We are there :).

For treks,

you can start with Sandhakphu or Chandrashila . You can also benchmark yourself for the treks.

  • If you can run for 30 mins and cover around 3-3.5 km , then you can go ahead with an easy trek
  • If you can run for 30 mins and cover around 3.5-4 km , then you can go ahead with an moderate trek
  • If you can run for 30 mins and cover around 4-5 km , then you can go ahead with an difficult trek

If you have never done a high altitude trek, then start with a easy or Easy- moderate trek. That way you will understand how your body reacts to high altitude and you can check you cardio strength too.

WHAT ARE TRIPS LIKE ?

Usually, most batch sizes are between 12-20 people who are aged between 16-38. Most people come alone or with a friend. The trip would feel like you are travelling more with college friends than strangers. We tend to do more outdoorsy things than regular trips .

For example : If we find a very pretty waterfall/ a beautiful sunset / Rainbow on the way. We would stop the vehicle right away to catch the beauty of it.

We usually sleep very late on these trips as we play a lot of group games and most people feel they will miss the precious time with the group members and decides to stay awake.

History

Going to Ho Chi Minh city and not visiting the cu chi tunnels is a shame , or not spending a moment of silence in the Key monastery in Kaza would be sensationally stupid which is why whenever we are visiting a place, we ensure we incorporate a few stops to bask in the history of those early days

Volunteering

Be it donating school supplies to a local school in Meghalaya or teaching a language in another school near Rishikesh or cleaning a bit of the Spiti river to raise awareness about climate change , we want to inculcate the act of being selfless, we want to provide you an opportunity to come together with others to perform more eye opening experiences to support those in need.

Food

When we are traveling across oceans or road tripping through rural regions, do you want to eat a burger, a salad or something you could have on any other day?

We encourage you to eat without fear, tear into the local stew, drink the sincerely offered Kahwa in a local glass and learn how to order breakfast in a country where you don’t know the language. We like stuff like that.

Culture

Do you know what it’s like to spend a day drinking and dancing with Angami tribes of Nagaland? Have you ever gone shopping for bread in a local market in Kazakhstan?

These are experiences we get only when we visit the place where it all originated from.
